Sharon's Cross-Stitch Project

A note from Sharon on Saturday 1st March 2008

There is a story to my purchase of this 'Rose of Sharon' pattern

My Father died on the 12th November 1989
The day after he died I was walking past a craft shop on the way to work
I was early so I went in to have a look
I saw the pattern and had a little cry in the shop because my Dad called me his 'Rose of Sharon'
I decided to buy it and stitch it in memory of him

Now, almost twenty years later, I decided I needed to start this project!

Almost all the threads I am using were Mothers - I was the lucky one who inherited her sewing basket!

For my fiftieth birthday my sister Fiona stitched me a beautiful 'Rose of Sharon' and it is hanging in our bedroom
When I finish this one it will also hang in our gorgeous bedroom too
It is my favourite room in our house and they will look perfect!
