The Batting Cage

Saturday 6th March 2010

New side screens have been fitted

Unfortunately, as the two photos below show, the rest of the cage is starting to get that "neglected look" about it !!

Tuesday 9th March 2010

The League held a Working Bee over the weekend ... and the cage got itself a tidy up !!
Weeds were chopped out, holes filled in and the floor was raked and levelled,
and the rope is in place to attach to the bottom of the side screens
The protector screen at the end of the cage is going to be fitted to the back wall to stop damage to the wire

Still one Major Job to do ... and that is the new roof is yet to be fitted
The net screens are cut and ready ... just need someone to hang and fix them in place !!

The Baseball League held another Working Bee today
and the protector screen was fitted to the end of the cage
... with Sharon's assistance !!

The work over the next few days was done by
Ritchie Mounsey, Ty Hewitt, Terry Beattie and myself

It poured rain each day !!

Monday 5th April 2010

The roofing sheets are now hanging in place and just need to be fixed to the centre wire and the opposite side

Yes, there is sunshine ... but it didn't last long !!

Nearly done ... and below Ritchie is working on one of the last sections

The new roof has been hung and is almost finished
and there is just a small section at the gate end to be completed
